Job Description
Please call (203) 619-2749 if you have the proper experience• Responsibilities Greet guests warmly upon arrival and guide them through the menu options with enthusiasm and detailed descriptions. Take accurate food and beverage orders using advanced POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS, ensuring all special requests are noted precisely. Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and sanitation. Upsell menu items and beverages to enhance guest experience and increase sales opportunities. Manage tables efficiently by bussing, resetting, and ensuring cleanliness throughout the shift. Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling, cashiering, and processing payments via POS systems like OpenTable. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation protocols, and proper food handling procedures to ensure guest safety at all times. Requirements Proven experience as a server in a fine dining or upscale restaurant environment with a strong background in food service. Familiarity with POS systems such as Toast. Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, energetic demeanor that fosters guest relations. Strong time management abilities to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours. Knowledge of food industry standards including food preparation, sanitation practices, and food safety regulations. Experience with culinary techniques or kitchen experience is a plus to better understand menu offerings. Ability to upsell effectively while maintaining genuine guest interactions; previous host/hostess or nightclub experience is advantageous.
