Job Description
Position SummaryLead by example at one of the most scenic waterfront restaurants on Florida's Emerald Coast! As the Lead Server at Marina Bar & Grill, you'll help create memorable dining experiences while supporting the restaurant leadership team in daily operations. This hands-on role combines exceptional guest service with team leadership, helping ensure every shift runs smoothly while inspiring fellow team members to deliver outstanding hospitality. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesWelcome guests with genuine hospitality and provide exceptional food and beverage service throughout their dining experience.
Serve as the shift leader by assisting restaurant management with daily operations and supporting the service team.
Lead by example by maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, teamwork, and guest service.
Assist with opening and closing procedures, ensuring all side work and checklists are completed.
Help organize server sections and communicate reservations, large parties, and special events with the team.
Share daily food, beverage, and promotional features with staff to ensure product knowledge.
Coach and mentor new and existing servers on service standards, menu knowledge, and guest engagement.
Monitor the dining room to ensure guests receive prompt, attentive service and quickly address concerns to ensure guest satisfaction.
Assist in resolving guest issues professionally and escalate concerns to management when appropriate.
Support food runners, bartenders, hosts, and bussers during busy periods to maintain smooth restaurant operations.
Process guest payments accurately using the point-of-sale system.
Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the dining room, service stations, and outdoor seating areas.
Follow all responsible alcohol service guidelines and company policies.
Promote a positive, energetic, and team-oriented work environment.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education and ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous serving experience required.
Previous leadership, trainer, or lead server experience preferred.
Knowledge of food, beverage, wine, and cocktail service is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesOutstanding guest service and communication skills.
Strong leadership and coaching abilities.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant.
Positive attitude with a team-first mindset.
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to remain calm and professional during busy service periods.

AvailabilitySandestin Golf & Beach Resort operates seven days a week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. This position requires a flexible schedule based on business demands.
Physical RequirementsStand and walk for extended periods, often 810 hours per shift.
Frequently lift and carry trays, food, beverages, and supplies weighing up to 30 pounds.
Bend, stoop, reach, twist, and carry items throughout the restaurant.
Frequently walk between indoor dining areas, outdoor patios, and service stations.
Must be able to work outside in the natural elements: cold, heat, humidity, rain, wind.
Work quickly and safely in a busy restaurant environment.
Work EnvironmentMarina Bar & Grill offers a fun, energetic waterfront atmosphere overlooking Choctawhatchee Bay. This position requires working both indoors and outdoors throughout the year. Team members are frequently exposed to Florida's natural elements, including high heat, humidity, direct sunlight, wind, rain, and changing weather conditions. Candidates should be comfortable working outside for extended periods during all seasons while maintaining exceptional service and a positive attitude. The role also includes exposure to moderate to high noise levels during peak dining periods and requires the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, physically active environment.
