Job Description
Overview The Server is responsible for providing friendly, professional, and efficient food and beverage service to residents and guests throughout the community's various dining and amenity locations. This position takes food and beverage orders, serves meals and beverages, maintains clean and organized service areas, and helps create an enjoyable and welcoming experience. The Server may work in both indoor and outdoor environments, including clubhouses, cafés, pool areas, event spaces, and other community amenities. This position works closely with the Food & Beverage management team and other service staff to ensure consistent service standards and smooth daily operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide friendly, attentive, and professional service to residents and guests.
- Greet guests promptly, provide menus or service information, and assist with seating as needed.
- Accurately take food and beverage orders and enter orders into the point-of-sale system.
- Serve food and beverages promptly and according to established service standards.
- Maintain knowledge of menu items, daily specials, ingredients, and available beverages and provide recommendations or answer guest questions.
- Monitor assigned tables and service areas throughout the meal or event to anticipate and respond to guest needs.
- Process payments accurately and follow established cash-handling and point-of-sale procedures.
- Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked dining, service, and beverage areas.
- Clear and reset tables promptly and assist with general cleaning and sanitation of service areas.
- Assist with setup, service, and breakdown for community events, private functions, and other special activities.
- Provide food and beverage service in both indoor and outdoor locations, including pool and amenity areas, as assigned.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen, bar, and management staff to ensure accurate and timely service.
- Address guest questions or concerns professionally and notify management when additional assistance is needed.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, alcohol service, safety, and company policies and procedures.
- Maintain a professional appearance and courteous demeanor at all times.
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including stocking, cleaning, securing service areas, and completing assigned side work.
- Support other food and beverage operations as needed based on business levels, events, weather, and community activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned based on the needs of the community and management. Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous serving, food and beverage, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred.
- Knowledge of basic food and beverage service practices preferred.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately handle orders and payments.
- Dependable, punctual, and willing to assist with a variety of food and beverage responsibilities.
- Food safety and responsible alcohol service certification, as required by the position and applicable law.
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events. Physical Requirements
- Frequently stand and walk for extended periods.
- Regularly bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb stairs.
- Regularly lift, carry, push, and pull food, beverage, trays, supplies, and other items weighing up to 25-50 pounds.
- Carry trays and safely transport food and beverages throughout indoor and outdoor service areas.
- Work in varying temperatures and weather conditions when assigned to outdoor amenities.
- Remain physically active throughout the workday and perform repetitive movements as required.
