Job Description Stack:

Burgers & Bourbon is seeking a motivated, organized, and dependable Expo / Food Runner to join our restaurant team! This is a fast-paced, hands-on position responsible for coordinating food orders between the kitchen and dining room, ensuring accuracy and presentation, and delivering food promptly to guests. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, communicates effectively, works well under pressure, and understands the importance of teamwork in delivering an exceptional dining experience. This is a dual-role position requiring employees to work both as a Food Expeditor (Expo) and Food Runner, depending on restaurant needs. Key Responsibilities Food Expediting (Expo) Coordinate food orders between the kitchen and front-of-house team. Verify order accuracy, modifications, temperatures, and presentation before food leaves the kitchen. Organize completed orders and ensure all items for each table are ready for service. Communicate with kitchen staff, servers, and management to maintain efficient ticket times. Prioritize orders and maintain smooth food flow during busy service periods. Ensure food quality and presentation meet restaurant standards. Food Running Deliver food quickly, accurately, and professionally to the correct tables and guests. Demonstrate knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and common modifications. Confirm guests have the necessary condiments, utensils, and accompaniments. Assist servers with guest requests and communicate additional needs promptly. Maintain a clean and organized food pickup and service area. Support timely food delivery without compromising quality. Teamwork & Restaurant Support Assist with clearing and resetting tables when needed. Restock service stations, condiments, and supplies. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the shift. Communicate effectively with the kitchen and service team. Assist with opening, closing, and assigned side-work duties. Jump in wherever needed to support efficient restaurant operations. Qualifications Previous restaurant experience preferred; expo or food running experience is a plus. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Ability to remain calm and focused during high-volume service. Strong attention to detail and order accuracy. Ability to stand, walk, and carry food trays throughout extended shifts. Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn. Weekend availability required, including Friday and Saturday evenings.
