Job Overview Join our dedicated dietary team as a Dietary Server, where your enthusiasm and attention to detail will ensure residents and patients receive nourishing, well-presented meals in a warm and welcoming environment. In this vital role, you will assist in meal service, food handling, and sanitation processes while adhering to strict safety and dietary guidelines. Responsibilities Serve meals to residents or patients with professionalism, courtesy, and a focus on customer service excellence. Assist with food preparation, plating, and portioning in accordance with dietary requirements and safety standards. Maintain cleanliness of dining areas, kitchen equipment, and food service utensils following sanitation protocols. Support food handling procedures, including proper manual handling techniques and safe lifting practices for heavy items. Adhere strictly to food safety regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and sanitation practices aligned with JCAHO standards. Collaborate with dietary staff to ensure timely delivery of meals while respecting individual dietary restrictions and nutritional needs. Assist with bussing tables, cleaning dishes, and maintaining a sanitized environment in compliance with health regulations. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently during meal preparation and service. Follow workplace safety protocols diligently to prevent accidents or injuries during heavy lifting or manual handling tasks. Support the dietary department's efforts in nutrition education by understanding basic dietetics principles related to geriatric or healthcare populations. Experience Previous experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly preferred. Familiarity with food production, meal preparation, and food handling procedures is advantageous. Experience working with geriatric patients or individuals requiring special dietary accommodations is desirable. Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and operating kitchen equipment is beneficial. Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during busy meal service periods. Customer service experience demonstrating professionalism and compassionate communication skills. Ability to perform light to heavy lifting safely while maintaining proper body mechanics. Basic math skills for portion control, inventory checks, or meal counts are helpful but not mandatory.
