Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Part Time Afternoon Server, where your enthusiasm and dedication will create a warm, welcoming environment for residents and guests. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional food service during the afternoon hours, ensuring that every meal is prepared and served with care and professionalism. Your positive attitude and attention to detail will contribute to a vibrant community atmosphere, supporting residents' nutritional needs and enhancing their daily experience. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your culinary skills and work in a compassionate, team-oriented setting. •This shift is specifically for someone who can work 4pm-7pm and able to work Fridays and Saturdays•Duties Serve meals to residents and guests in accordance with dietary requirements and safety standards Assist with food preparation, plating, and presentation to ensure quality and appeal Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of dining areas, kitchen equipment, and food handling stations Adhere to all food safety protocols, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of food items Support dietary department staff by bussing tables, cleaning dishes, and ensuring a tidy dining environment Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently during meal service Follow workplace safety guidelines including manual handling practices and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) Assist with inventory management by monitoring supplies and notifying supervisors of shortages or issues Experience Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly preferred Knowledge of food production, meal preparation, and sanitation standards such as JCAHO (Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations) guidelines Experience working with geriatric patients or individuals with special dietary needs is advantageous Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently during busy service periods Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment such as ovens, microwaves, dishwashers, and serving utensils Basic math skills for portion control and inventory tracking Excellent customer service abilities with a friendly, professional demeanor CPR certification or willingness to obtain certification is preferred This role is paid and offers an engaging environment where your skills make a meaningful difference in residents' lives.
