Job Description

Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Server / Host, where your energy and hospitality skills will create memorable dining experiences for our guests. In this vibrant role, you will be the first point of contact, warmly welcoming guests, managing reservations, and ensuring smooth seating arrangements. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help foster a lively, welcoming atmosphere that keeps guests coming back. Whether taking orders, serving delicious dishes, or assisting with food and beverage service, you'll play a vital part in delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for someone who can work consistently with a stable weekly schedule during the school semester. Summer and winter breaks can be discussed in advance, but holidays, graduation weekends, and other busy periods are important times for the restaurant, so reliable availability is expected during those times. Responsibilities Greet guests with a friendly and energetic attitude, providing excellent customer service from arrival to departure Seat guests efficiently while providing menus and answering initial questions about the menu offerings Upsell menu items and specials to enhance guest experience and increase sales opportunities Assist with food handling, bussing tables, and maintaining cleanliness in dining areas to ensure sanitation standards are met Support food preparation when needed and coordinate with kitchen staff to deliver timely service Handle cash transactions accurately through cashiering duties, including cash handling and basic math calculations Foster positive guest relations by addressing inquiries promptly and resolving concerns professionally Accurately organize and pack takeout and delivery orders. Answer customer phone calls professionally and process orders. Prepare and serve beverages at the tea bar. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth restaurant operations. Requirements Previous experience as a host/hostess or server in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for hospitality is essential Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced setting while multitasking seamlessly Knowledge of food handling, sanitation practices, and food safety regulations Experience in fine dining or upscale restaurant environments is a plus but not mandatory Basic math skills for cashiering duties including cash handling and making change accurately Culinary or kitchen experience can be beneficial for understanding food preparation processes Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed A friendly demeanor with excellent guest relations skills to create welcoming atmospheres Excellent teamwork and communication skills, including the ability to communicate patiently and effectively with team members and guests from different language backgrounds.
