The Server is one of the most important points of connection between Kata Nori and our guests. Our Servers are responsible for creating a thoughtful, attentive, and memorable hospitality experience while guiding guests through our food and beverage offerings. We're looking for individuals who take ownership of their role, genuinely enjoy taking care of people, and understand that great service is a team effort.
Responsibilities/Skills :
Provide warm, attentive, and knowledgeable hospitality to every guest, taking ownership of their experience from beginning to end. Build genuine connections with guests when appropriate. Use conversation, curiosity, and attentiveness to make each visit feel personal, memorable, and meaningful. Read the room and adapt your approach to each guest, recognizing and responding to their individual needs and cues. Maintain thorough knowledge of our food, ingredients, cocktails, sake, wine, and other beverage offerings; confidently guide guests through the menu and make thoughtful recommendations. Anticipate guest needs and stay aware of the overall flow of service rather than simply reacting to requests. Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked section, ensuring guests and fellow team members have the tools and supplies they need for a successful service. Communicate clearly with the kitchen, bar, hosts, managers, and fellow servers to maintain a smooth and coordinated service. Contribute to the success of the entire dining room—not just your own section. Run food, clear dishes, reset tables, stock supplies, and assist teammates whenever needed. Take a proactive approach to problems and communicate concerns, guest needs, or operational issues to leadership before they become larger issues. Handle guest concerns with empathy, professionalism, and a genuine desire to find a solution. Follow all food safety, sanitation, alcohol service, and restaurant policies. Maintain a professional appearance, positive attitude, and sense of urgency throughout the shift. Be receptive to feedback and committed to continually improving your hospitality, product knowledge, and service skills. Embody Kata Nori's core values of hospitality, awareness, teamwork, and continuous improvement . Own your role, take care of your guests, support your team, and take pride in the details that turn a good meal into a memorable experience.
