Table service : Setting up tables, clearing dishes, and keeping the dining area clean. Payment processing : Handling cash and credit card transactions, and delivering checks.

Communication :

Communicating with kitchen staff to help process orders and accommodate special requests. Servers should also be able to communicate with coworkers and managers. Health and safety : Following health regulations and food safety guidelines. Servers should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and pay close attention to detail.
