In our world, a hotel is much more than a destination to meet, dine, or sleep. Rather, it is a dynamic site of imagery and emotions, interactions and sensations manifesting within the walls of a beautifully restored local legend - a living movie set. An ASH hotel is a connection to the past and a beacon for the future, layered in nuanced storytelling that invites exploration time and again. ASH Hotels, in partnership with local developer Nathalie Jordi, acquired a historic development site nestled in New Orleans' Marigny neighborhood. Hotel Peter and Paul consists of an existing church, rectory, convent, and school buildings steeped in more than a century of local, preservationist heritage. Our hotel offers classic, elegant experiences that defy formulaic guest expectations by entwining enduring church and schoolhouse architecture with eclectic interiors and reimagined environments. Characterized by an unexpected contemporary Louisianan spirit, Peter and Paul enchants all guests with an authentic union of yesteryear's Marigny with today's New Orleans. About the role We are seeking a Server for our all-day restaurant, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In this role, you are responsible for delivering attentive, knowledgeable service to every table; from taking orders and running food to anticipating what a guest needs before they ask. The ideal Server is a genuine people-person who thrives on the energy of a busy dining room and takes real pride in a smoothly run shift. They know the menu inside and out, move with confidence and speed during a rush, and have the interpersonal instincts to read a table and adjust their approach — warm and chatty with one guest, efficient and low-key with the next. Equally comfortable working the POS, speaking about food allergies and menu items, and recommending a specialty cocktail, they understand that great service is equal parts hospitality and hustle. What you'll do Greet guests warmly and guide them through the food, beverage, and bar menu with genuine knowledge and enthusiasm Take accurate food and beverage orders and enter them correctly into the POS system Deliver food and drinks promptly, checking in to ensure quality and guest satisfaction throughout the meal Upsell menu items, specials, and the bar program in a natural, non-pushy way Process payments accurately, including splitting checks and handling cash and card transactions Maintain full knowledge of ingredients, preparation methods, and allergens to answer guest questions confidently Communicate clearly with kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely, accurate order fulfillment Set up, maintain, and break down dining areas, including proper table settings and cleanliness standards Follow responsible alcohol service practices and verify age for alcohol purchases Handle guest concerns or special requests promptly and professionally, looping in a manager when needed Maintain required Food Handler and responsible alcohol service certifications for the role Qualifications Prior serving experience in a restaurant, cafe, or hotel F&B outlet preferred Working knowledge of POS systems Food Handler's certification and responsible alcohol service certification (e.g., TIPS, ServSafe) required or ability to obtain promptly Strong menu knowledge and comfort discussing food and beverage pairings Excellent communication and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment Flexible availability, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays Passion for hospitality and creating a memorable dining experience Work Environment Active, on-your-feet role throughout the full shift in a fast-paced dining environment Frequent interaction with guests, kitchen, and bar staff Carrying trays, plates, and beverages; occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
