Danversport has a phenomenal team of servers who make every event special! Duties Pre-set tables with tablecloths, flatware, glassware, and folded napkins Greet customers as they arrive Pass hors d'oeuvres Review the event menu with guests Answer questions related to menu items Carry trays of food from the kitchen to serve all courses to guests If a buffet, the servers will plate the food for the guests at the buffet Remove dirty dishes/glasses from the tables after guests finish course Clear crumbs and maintain table area cleanliness Re-stock service areas and perform side work as instructed Servers often meet with managers and chefs before each shift to discuss the event menu, review ingredients for potential food allergies, or talk about any food safety concerns. In addition, servers working a specialty drink station will be responsible for checking the identification of customers to ensure that they meet the minimum age requirement to be served alcohol. Important Qualities Communication skills

• Servers must listen carefully to customers' specific requests and food allergies, ask any questions, and relay the information to the kitchen staff, so that orders are prepared to the customers' satisfaction Customer-service skills
• Servers spend most of their work time serving customers. They should be friendly and polite and be able to develop a rapport with customers Detail oriented
• Servers must keep customers' orders straight as an event may offer 3 different plated entrees Interpersonal skills
• Servers must be courteous, tactful, and attentive as they deal with customers in all circumstances. For example, they must show an understanding of customers' complaints and help resolve any issues that arise Physical ability
• Servers spend hours on their feet carrying heavy trays, dishes, and drinks. The work can be fast-paced. During the meal delivery they are under pressure to serve the meal to guests quickly and efficiently. They must be able to work well as a team with kitchen staff and fellow servers Personal hygiene
• Cleanliness is a must; server must be well groomed Essential Job Functions Ability to lift, carry, deliver and serve from trays weighing up to 15 pounds throughout a six-hour shift Ability to balance serving tray on one shoulder while walking Ability to carry and set up folding table to support particularly heavy orders Ability to stand and walk continually throughout a six-hour shift Ability to bend, stoop, and reach while carrying serving trays weighing up to 15 pounds Ability to communicate with customers About Danversport Danversport is the North Shore's premier event facility.

Danversport started as a vision more than 50 years ago when Joseph DeLorenzo imagined creating a special place for the community to celebrate life's joyous occasions. He and his wife Barbara eventually purchased a beautiful parcel of land and set out to build a "big band" style dance hall and marina. In 1970, they opened the doors and it quickly became a destination location for dinner, dancing and live music.
