Full-Time | Part-Time | Seasonal About Dexter Dexter is a 29-room boutique hotel in Elk Rapids, Michigan that brings together thoughtfully designed accommodations, a neighborhood café, and Noble Lounge under one roof. Created to feel more like a well-lived home than a traditional hotel, Dexter blends warm hospitality, thoughtful design, and exceptional food and beverage into one seamless guest experience. Every detail—from the first cup of coffee in the morning to an evening cocktail—is intentional, creating an atmosphere that is welcoming, refined, and deeply connected to the community. Our team is small, collaborative, and committed to continually improving. Every role has a direct impact on the guest experience, and we believe great hospitality is built through genuine care, consistency, and attention to detail. Position Summary As a Server at Dexter, you are responsible for creating memorable dining experiences through attentive, knowledgeable, and genuine hospitality. Whether serving guests in Noble Lounge, the café, or during special events, you help create an atmosphere where every guest feels welcomed, cared for, and excited to return. This position requires someone who enjoys connecting with people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in delivering thoughtful service while maintaining high standards of professionalism and efficiency. Responsibilities Deliver warm, attentive, and personalized service to every guest. Guide guests through food, wine, cocktail, beer, and coffee offerings with confidence. Accurately enter orders into the POS system and communicate effectively with the kitchen and bar. Deliver food and beverages promptly while ensuring quality and presentation standards are met. Anticipate guest needs and provide thoughtful, proactive service. Maintain thorough knowledge of menus, daily features, and seasonal offerings. Complete opening, closing, and side work responsibilities. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming dining environment. Work collaboratively with the kitchen, bar, and hotel teams to create a seamless guest experience. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service standards. Qualifications Previous restaurant or hospitality experience preferred but not required. Passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Dependable, professional, and team-oriented. Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
