GED Full Job Description Server Job Summary:
The server is the main guest service and sales representative of the establishment. The server will be responsible for taking orders, serving food and drinks, and ensuring that guests have an enjoyable dining experience.Responsibilities:
- Greets guests and thanks them when they are leaving and builds rapport by asking questions and initiating conversation.
- Is responsible for hosting and bussing, as needed.
- Prepares non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages.
- Serves food and drinks in a timely and courteous manner.
- Answers guests' questions and provides recommendations.
- Monitors table turnover.
- Maintains a clean and tidy dining area.
- Handles cash and credit card transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Utilizes the company's Steps of Service when serving guests.
- Has extensive menu knowledge. Possesses an awareness and ability to describe all food, drink, and special menu items.
- Interacts with the kitchen to ensure the cook understands the guest's orders.
- Sets up and maintains section throughout the shift.
- Ensures we exceeded every guest's experience, and the food was delicious!
- Follows up on each order to ensure timely and accurate completion.
- Pre-busses and busses their tables and co-worker's tables.
- Performs side duties and runs side work as assigned.
- Has a thorough knowledge of facility and operations.
- Delivers professional, courteous, and exceptional service to guests.
- Teamwork is the core of everything we do at our company, as we help our co-workers throughout every shift.
- Adheres to company standards, including personal hygiene and appearance.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of experience as a server in a restaurant setting.
- Excellent communication and guest service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays.
- Able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 40 pounds
