On-site Job Summary Trattoria Stella is seeking experienced, passionate servers to join our front-of-house team. As a server in our award-winning fine dining restaurant, you'll deliver attentive, gracious service while demonstrating in-depth menu and beverage knowledge. About Trattoria Stella Since 2004, Trattoria Stella has been Northern Michigan's most awarded restaurant, recognized for culinary innovation and unmatched hospitality. Led by Advanced Sommelier, Amanda Danielson & Executive Chef Myles Anton, a five-time James Beard Award Semi-Finalist, our team is dedicated to excellence, craft, and genuine service. Key Responsibilities Provide attentive and personalized table service to each guest from seating to check. Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the food and beverage menus, including ingredients, preparations, and pairing recommendations. Participate in bi-weekly training on wine, spirits, beer, and hospitality techniques. Accurately take orders and coordinate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely delivery. Handle cash and POS transactions with accuracy and professionalism. Follow all health, safety, and alcohol service regulations. Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned service sections. Collaborate with fellow FOH and BOH team members to ensure seamless service. Compensation & Benefits Hourly pay plus tips. Full-time employees eligible for health, dental, and vision insurance. Requirements:
Required Qualifications Minimum 1 year of serving experience in a fine dining or upscale restaurant. Strong communication skills and a sincere commitment to hospitality. Curiosity and eagerness to learn — especially in food and beverage. Punctual, reliable, and able to work well under pressure. Willingness to show up on time, work hard, and take pride in craftsmanship. Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled. Physical Requirements Stand and walk for extended periods (6-8 hours per shift). Lift and carry up to 25 lbs (e.g., trays, wine boxes). Frequent bending, reaching, and use of hands for carrying and serving. Work in a fast-paced environment with frequent guest interaction.
