Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Server to join us at the Cottage comfortable foods. Open daily 8am until 8pm. Serving full menu. No Alcohol served at the Cottage. As a key member of our hospitality staff, you will deliver exceptional guest experiences by providing attentive, friendly, and efficient service in a fast-paced environment. Your role will involve taking orders, serving food and drinks, and ensuring that every guest leaves satisfied and eager to return. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary knowledge, sales skills, and passion for hospitality while working in a lively setting that values teamwork and guest satisfaction. Responsibilities Greet guests warmly upon arrival and present menus with enthusiasm, highlighting specials and upselling opportunities. Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems Clover. Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness. Assist guests with menu selections, answer questions about ingredients or food preparation, and accommodate special dietary requests. Manage cash handling, process payments accurately through Clover. Maintain cleanliness of tables, dining areas, and service stations; bus tables promptly to ensure a smooth flow of service. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure orders are prepared correctly and delivered promptly; support food safety and sanitation standards at all times. Requirements Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, preferably with fine dining or nightclub experience. Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar platforms. Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests positively and handle inquiries professionally. Knowledge of food handling safety procedures, sanitation practices, and basic math for cash handling and billing accuracy. Ability to manage time effectively during busy shifts while maintaining attention to detail. Previous experience in serving roles such as host/hostess or bussing is advantageous; culinary experience is a plus. Excellent communication skills coupled with a friendly demeanor; team-oriented mindset essential for success in a lively environment.
