- Greet each guest's table and introduce them to Harbor 360 and the menu.
- Present menus to guests and answer questions about menu items, beverages, and other restaurant functions and services.
- Monitor and observe guests' dining experience to ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service and respond promptly and courteously to correct all and any problems - not excluding food and beverage running,
- Take food or beverages orders from guests using the current technology.
- Service 5 table section (at minimum) and in sections area's as assigned by manager on duty.
- Explain to guests how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods.
- Inform guests of menu changes and daily specials and make recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoy.
- Ring in orders through current technology systems. Accept guest payment, process credit card charges, and make change if necessary.
- Garnish and decorate dishes in preparation for serving.
- Serve and run food or beverages to guests and prepare or serve specialty dishes at tables as required.
- Prepare hot, cold, and mixed drinks for guests, and chill bottles of wine.
- Run ALL prepared ready to serve food and beverages for all tables, regardless of section or table assignments. We run all food, beverages, salads, and deserts as soon as they are prepared.
- Uphold proper table maintenance - clearing glasses, plates and silverware when guest is finished with each item, pre-bussing tables.
- Describe and recommend wines to guests.
- Check guests' identification to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages.
- Follow proper liquor service - DRAM shop laws and all Minnesota liquor service guidelines and requirements.
- Bring wine selections to tables with appropriate glasses and pour the wines for guests.
- Perform food preparation duties such as preparing salads, appetizers, and cold dishes, portioning desserts, and brewing coffee.
- Remove dishes and glasses from tables or counters and take them to the kitchen for cleaning. Page 1 of 2 Activities & Responsibilities
- Prepare checks that itemize and total meal costs and sales taxes.
- Collect payments from guests.
- Work as a team and notify host of open tables.
- Answer The Apostle main phone line as needed.
- Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return.
- Clean tables or counters after guests have finished dining.
- Assist host or hostess by answering phones to take reservations or to-go orders, and by greeting, seating, and thanking guests.
- Roll silverware, set up food stations or set up dining areas to prepare for the next shift or for large parties.
- Stock service areas with supplies such as coffee, food, tableware, and linens.
- Prepare tables for meals, including setting up items such as linens, silverware, and glassware.
- Perform cleaning duties, such as sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming carpet, tidying up server station, taking out trash, or checking and cleaning bathroom.
- Fill salt, pepper, sugar, cream, condiment, and napkin containers.
- Attend all scheduled employee meetings and offers suggestions for improvement.
- Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests' needs and support the operation of the restaurant.
- Fill-in for fellow employees where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.
- Run completed food orders from kitchen
- Arrive to work in the proper uniform.
- The Service industry requires that ability to adapt, move quickly and perform efficiently
- Must have the ability to work in busy conditions
- Work together as a team and communicate respectfully to ensure the restaurant runs efficiently.
- Perform all side work and closeout duties as assigned by manager, in addition to opening/closing duties and checking out with manager at the beginning and end of shift.
- Additional duties as assigned by the manager.
- Teamwork is essential.
Skills Previous experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of food safety practices, sanitation, and safe lifting procedures. Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy periods. Familiarity with food preparation, serving techniques, and kitchen operations. Ability to work effectively with geriatric patients or individuals requiring special dietary considerations. $11.44 - $14.34 per hour
