Server Harvey's The Breakfast Place - 5.0 Greenville, NC Job Details Part-time | Full-time $2.13 an hour + tips 1 day ago Qualifications Guest relations Wine knowledge Sanitation Bussing Food preparation Clean workspace maintenance Restaurant experience Full Job Description Server Job Description The primary role of restaurant service staff is to interact with guests and make sure they have a great dining experience. We are looking for a friendly and outgoing candidate to join our Harveys Team. We require morning availability, as early as 5:30 AM, Must have weekends open as well. This is a part- time role. The wage is 2.13+tips. We do expect this candidate to aid and participate in meetings, and scheduled cleanings of the establishment. Greet and Serve Guests Servers work in every aspect of guest service. They greet guests that arrive, help seat them, and provide menus. They assist guests with making food choices and take their orders to the kitchen staff. They also deliver food to the guest's table when it's ready and make sure that guests have a quality dining experience through the whole process. They are also responsible for handling Togo orders. Dining and Seating Preparation The job of a server starts before the first customer walks through the door. They assign sections to the serving staff and bus persons and make sure the dining area is clean, that tables are set with fresh linens and tableware, and that serving stations are stocked appropriately. They also review the menu and make sure the waitstaff is prepared for service Server Skills and Qualifications Friendly, quick, and agile, successful servers are always eager to greet and provide guests with top-quality service. Employers look for candidates with a track record of excellent customer service and prior experience in the fast-paced food service industry, as well as the following skills: Server Basics Most restaurants use a point-of-sale system called a POS to send orders to the kitchen and generate sales slips; some experience with restaurant software like this is necessary. Knowledge of food and beverage preparation, guest relations, service styles and etiquette such as appropriate table settings, the order of service ware and wine service is required. All waitstaff must be able to perform cleaning side work on a daily basis. Primary Responsibilities Servers are expected to be fully knowledgeable about the menu and daily specials and shares that knowledge with new servers who ask questions about describing dishes to guests, how the dishes are prepared, and any particulars about serving dishes such as table-side preparations or special utensils needed by guests. For food issues, the server makes sure an unhappy guest receives his meal properly prepared or modified to his satisfaction. Secondary Responsibilities Servers are responsible for keeping the dining room clean and orderly, the glassware and serving ware spot-free, and extras supplies are full for the next shift or cleaned out at closing.
