Job Description
Server Ember & Elm Restaurant Position Summary At Ember & Elm, our servers are hospitality professionals who create memorable dining experiences through attentive, knowledgeable, and genuine service. As the primary point of contact for our guests, servers are responsible for guiding diners through our seasonal menu, beverage offerings, and chef-driven cuisine while delivering warm, polished service from arrival to departure. Key Responsibilities
- Welcome guests with professionalism, warmth, and genuine hospitality.
- Develop extensive knowledge of Ember & Elm's seasonal food, wine, beer, spirits, and cocktail menus.
- Confidently explain menu items, ingredients, preparation methods, and daily features.
- Make thoughtful food and beverage recommendations based on guests' preferences.
- Accurately enter orders into the POS system and communicate clearly with the kitchen and bar teams.
- Deliver food and beverages promptly while ensuring presentation meets restaurant standards.
- Monitor guest satisfaction throughout the dining experience and respond promptly to requests or concerns.
- Maintain clean, organized, and properly set dining areas before, during, and after service.
- Process guest payments accurately and efficiently.
- Complete opening, side work, and closing duties to the highest standards.
- Collaborate with hosts, bartenders, service assistants, and kitchen staff to ensure seamless service.
- Uphold all food safety, alcohol service, and sanitation regulations. Qualifications
- Previous serving experience in an upscale casual or fine dining restaurant is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for hospitality, food, wine, and exceptional guest service.
- Ability to multitask and remain composed in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive attitude, professionalism, and attention to detail.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
