Role:
The Back Waiter plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the dining service in a restaurant or hospitality setting. This position focuses on supporting the front-of-house team by managing the preparation and replenishment of dining areas, assisting with the delivery of food and beverages, and maintaining cleanliness and organization. The Back Waiter acts as a vital link between the kitchen and the dining room, ensuring that guests receive timely and attentive service. This role requires a proactive approach to anticipating the needs of both guests and servers, contributing to an overall positive dining experience. Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment is preferred but not required. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during shifts. Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team. Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working as a back waiter, busser, or in a similar support role in a restaurant. Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and order tracking. Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Customer service experience with a focus on hospitality. Certification in food handling or safety.
Responsibilities:
Assist servers by delivering food and beverages to tables promptly and accurately. Prepare dining areas by setting tables, replenishing condiments, and ensuring all necessary supplies are available. Clear and reset tables efficiently to maintain a clean and organized dining environment. Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate the timely delivery of orders and communicate any special requests or issues. Maintain cleanliness in service areas, including floors, service stations, and dining rooms, adhering to health and safety standards.
