Job Description

Summary The food and beverage server is primarily responsible for serving guests, restaurant cleanup, and providing support in all areas of the restaurant/bar/lounge. This individual will promote a safe and welcoming working environment to achieve maximum guest satisfaction. Essential Functions Interacting with customers by taking their orders, making recommendations, providing them with accurate bills, serving them food and drinks, processing payments, and supplying them with whatever they need in a timely manner. Handling multiple tables and tasks in an efficient manner. Cleaning and clearing tables. Learning about food and beverages, food menus, wine, beer, and cocktails. Checking identification to ensure customers are the proper age to purchase alcoholic beverages. Standing, walking and carrying heavy trays of food and drinks. Maintain restaurant/lounge area and/or outdoor patio. Complete daily set up and closing procedures. Greet/seat guests and answer phones based on business needs. Perform basic kitchen functions such as making salads, cutting fruit, dessert plating, etc. Perform routine cleaning duties as assigned. Tip-out support staff in accordance with hotel standards. Report to Restaurant Supervisor on time and in full uniform for each shift. Perform other related duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
Education & experience High school diploma or equivalent Server experience preferred, but not required Fluency in other languages beneficial Requirements Authorized to work in the United States Knowledgeable in mixology, beers, wines, and other spirits Effective verbal and written communication skills in English. Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences Possess basic computer skills Detail-oriented and works well under pressure in a fast-paced environment Ability to effectively present one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other staff members of the organization and hospitality community Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays Willing to "pitch-in" and be a team player Ability to stand and walk about the dining room and/or outdoor patio for the majority of shift Professional appearance and demeanor Passionate about creating an exceptional experience for all guests Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job and may change at any time.
