] - Opening Late August 2026 Cavalier is a 48-seat restaurant in the heart of Chinatown, serving rustic, spice forward Mediterranean inspired cuisine. Led by chef and co-owner Mason Lindahl , whose experience includes acclaimed restaurants such as Monkey Bar , Diner in Williamsburg, and Léon 1909 on Shelter Island, and drawing inspiration from co-owner Yasmin Kaytmaz's ( The River, Derby Cup ) Turkish upbringing, the menu celebrates seasonal ingredients through thoughtful, shareable dishes rooted in simplicity and comfort. Complementing the food is a wine program curated by Stage Three Master of Wine candidate Lauren McPhate , featuring both natural and traditional wines. Designed as a neighborhood destination for exceptional food, wine, and hospitality, Cavalier offers a refined and approachable alternative to the city's traditional wine bar scene. Please send resume to yasmin@cavalier-nyc.com Server Tipped hourly rate + tip pool/share Location Overview Servers are the primary guest-facing role at CAVALIER, responsible for delivering warm, knowledgeable service across food and an evolving Mediterranean-leaning wine list. Key Responsibilities- Greet, seat, and guide guests through food and wine offerings with genuine hospitality
- Maintain deep working knowledge of nightly menu, wine list, and preparation methods
- Accurately enter orders, manage table timing, and coordinate with kitchen and bar
- Handle payment processing and check accuracy
- Maintain cleanliness and setup/breakdown of assigned section
- Participate in pre-shift tastings and ongoing wine education Qualifications
- 1+ years serving experience in a full-service restaurant; wine bar experience a plus
- Genuine interest in wine and willingness to build product knowledge
- Food Protection Certificate and NY alcohol service compliance (or obtained within required window)
- Strong communication and multitasking under pressure Physical Requirements Ability to stand/walk for full shifts (up to 8 hours), carry loaded trays, and lift up to 30 lbs.
