Job Description

Pay:
Starts at $12.50 per hour, pay increase review after 15 events worked Occasional tips Join the Event Services Team at The Castle and be part of unforgettable celebrations! With over 80 weddings a year, we are the premier wedding venue in Central Ohio.
Schedule Note:
This position is based on event bookings.
January-April:
1-2 shifts per week
May-December:
3-5 shifts per week Shifts are primarily evenings and weekends. Position Summary The Event Server is the front-line face of our Event Services Team and plays a key role in delivering exceptional event experiences, including weddings and private functions. Servers are assigned specific table sections and are responsible for providing attentive, professional service throughout the event. This role includes serving food and alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages , maintaining guest satisfaction, and ensuring smooth and efficient service. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) at the beginning of each shift to ensure proper room setup and service expectations. Set up banquet rooms according to event specifications. Serve guests within assigned sections , ensuring attentive and personalized service. Carry service trays with up to nine (9) covered plates. Prepare and serve salads, entrees, and desserts. Deliver alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages responsibly and professionally. Maintain a high-quality dining experience by: Checking on guests regularly Refilling drinks Clearing courses Replenishing utensils Provide excellent customer service to maximize guest satisfaction Greet all guests warmly and professionally. Answer guest questions about menu items, drinks, and services. Monitor tables to ensure cleanliness and presentation standards. Clear tables and transport dishes, glassware, and utensils to the appropriate areas. Assist with event setup and teardown, including arranging tables and chairs. Maintain cleanliness in event spaces, including restrooms and service areas. Perform cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, and organizing workstations. Assist with side work (folding silverware, stocking supplies, etc.). Follow all safety, sanitation, and company policies. Maintain a clean, professional appearance and uniform. Minimum Qualifications Previous serving or catering experience preferred Experience handling section-based service Ability to carry trays and serve multiple guests efficiently Strong customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction Ability to suggestively sell food and beverages Basic math skills (including making change) Basic reading, writing, and computer skills Strong communication and multitasking abilities Knowledge of banquet service etiquette and workplace safety procedures Physical Demands & Work Environment Standing and walking for the duration of shifts Frequent lifting, carrying, bending, and reaching Ability to lift up to 75 lbs occasionally Exposure to kitchen and event environment conditions (heat, cold, steam, etc.) Handling food, beverages, and cleaning materials regularly Additional Highlights Work in a fast-paced, team-oriented event environment Be part of weddings and special events that create lasting memories
