Non-Exempt (Hourly + Tips) Position Summary The Server is responsible for providing exceptional food and beverage service to guests in a full-service restaurant environment. This role requires strong knowledge of the menu, attention to detail, and the ability to create a welcoming, attentive, and memorable dining experience. Servers serve as ambassadors of the restaurant's standards, ensuring guests receive professional, efficient, and courteous service at all times. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Guest Service Greet guests promptly and warmly within established service standards Present menus, explain specials, and answer questions regarding food, beverages, and preparation methods Provide knowledgeable recommendations, including wine, cocktails, and menu pairings Accurately take and enter food and beverage orders into the POS system Deliver food and beverages promptly and ensure accuracy Monitor tables and anticipate guest needs throughout the dining experience Handle guest concerns professionally and escalate to management when necessary Present checks, process payments, and return change or receipts accurately Thank guests sincerely and invite them to return Operational Responsibilities Prepare assigned stations, including side work, before service Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining room, service stations, and work areas Follow proper food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service standards Communicate clearly with kitchen staff and management regarding orders, timing, and special requests Assist with running food, bussing tables, and supporting team members as needed Complete opening, running, and closing side work duties Sales & Service Standards Promote menu items, specials, and featured beverages to enhance the guest experience and drive sales Maintain thorough knowledge of menu ingredients, preparation methods, allergens, and availability Uphold the restaurant's service standards and brand image at all times Qualifications Previous restaurant server experience preferred (full-service experience strongly preferred) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Basic math skills and ability to handle cash and POS transactions accurately Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Responsible alcohol service certification (if required by state or employer) Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Ability to lift and carry trays weighing up to 30 pounds Ability to bend, reach, and maneuver safely throughout the restaurant Work Environment Fast-paced, high-energy restaurant setting Frequent interaction with guests, staff, and management Exposure to hot surfaces, sharp objects, and busy dining areas Key Competencies Guest-focused mindset Professional appearance and demeanor Teamwork and collaboration Reliability and punctuality Sales awareness and initiative
Pay:
