$5/hr + tips Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and service-driven Server to join our front-of-house team at Opus. In this role, you will deliver elevated, memorable dining experiences that reflect Opus and Square Roots Collective's vision and culture. You bring a hospitality-first mindset, high attention to detail, and a genuine passion for connecting with guests. You thrive in a precision-focused environment where consistency, accountability, and teamwork are the foundation of every shift. Key Responsibilities Provide warm, knowledgeable, and attentive service throughout the full dining experience—from greeting to farewell. Guide guests through the menu with confidence, including food and beverage descriptions, daily specials, and thoughtful pairing recommendations. Accurately take and communicate orders to the kitchen and bar, ensuring all dietary restrictions and special requests are noted and honored. Maintain full knowledge of the menu, wine list, cocktail program, and service standards at all times. Execute tableside service, food delivery, and course pacing with precision and timing. Anticipate guest needs proactively, addressing concerns with professionalism and grace before they are voiced. Collaborate closely with kitchen staff, bussers, food runners, and bartenders to ensure seamless, coordinated service. Process payments accurately and efficiently using the POS system. Perform opening and closing side work, including table setup, restocking, and station maintenance. Uphold all food safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service standards. Represent Opus's values and culture with professionalism, warmth, and integrity in every guest interaction. Qualifications & Experience 3-4 years of experience in an upscale, fine dining, or high-end casual dining environment. Proven track record of delivering consistent, high-quality guest experiences in a fast-paced setting. Strong working knowledge of food and beverage, including wine fundamentals and cocktail literacy. Experience with POS systems; familiarity with reservation platforms (e.g., Resy, OpenTable) a plus. RAMP certification or equivalent responsible alcohol service training preferred. Food handler certification (ServSafe or equivalent) preferred. Required Skills & Attributes Hospitality-first mindset with a genuine desire to serve and connect with guests. Precision and consistency in all aspects of service—from order taking to plate presentation. High attention to detail and strong organizational skills during high-volume service. Excellent verbal communication and active listening skills. Accountability and ownership over your section, your guests, and your team. Collaborative spirit and the ability to function as part of a high-performing team. Professional presentation and composure under pressure. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Physical stamina to stand and move throughout a full service shift and lift up to 35 lbs.
