Job Description

Our Tennessee State Parks are among the most beautiful parks in the United States. We have an outstanding opportunity in a beautiful work environment. Henry Horton State Park Lodge has a full-service restaurant, lounge, and catering facility. The Lodge is in Chapel Hill, Tennessee, and is a preferred destination for business meetings and conferences as well as a vacation destination for families. This position is responsible for leading the daily shifts in the restaurant and serving food and beverage to lounge and restaurant guests. The preferred candidate will have experience in a high-volume restaurant operation. A ServSafe certification is required for this position within 90 days of employment. The position requires work on weekends and holidays on a rotating basis and the ability to shift back and forth between multiple tables and service requests. Hours will vary each week due to demand. This position will additionally support all banquet services, including assisting with event setup, providing high‑quality food and beverage service during functions, and ensuring that banquet operations are executed efficiently and professionally. Candidates are required to be able to exert muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects.
Highlighted Responsibilities:
Assist with stocking and setting up restaurant and catering tables before each shift or function. Place food and beverage orders in a timely manner to ensure guest satisfaction. Participate in pre-shift meeting to describe shift objectives and nightly food or drink specials. Suggest wine pairings to customers that complement their food selections. Have knowledge with locally sourced beverage offerings and be able to distinguish the unique nature of each product to the guest. Work with Point-of-Sale systems and accurately handle cash and credit cards. Maintain a clean and organized restaurant and side stands that exceeds the the Department of Health expectations
