Job Description

Ottine Mineral Springs, nestled beside Palmetto State Park, is a historic treasure renowned for its rich legacy and commitment to health and wellness. Our extraordinary waters are rich in natural minerals and have long been known to promote relaxation, reduce stress, and support overall well-being. Today, we carry on this tradition by offering a peaceful retreat where guests can experience the rejuvenating power of these waters in a calming setting that only nature can provide.
POSITION
The Server plays a key role in delivering an exceptional guest experience by providing attentive, knowledgeable, and personalized service. This position is responsible for guiding guests through the menu, ensuring accurate and timely service, and creating a warm, seamless dining experience that reflects the standards of Ottine Mineral Springs. This position is part of an exciting new restaurant concept opening within our resort in mid-August 2026. Official start dates expected to be finalized in early August. This position requires some nights, weekends, and holidays.
Compensation:
$4 - $6 hourly + tips
Responsibilities:
Provide warm, attentive, and professional service to all guests from arrival through departure Demonstrates thorough knowledge of menus, ingredients, preparation methods, and daily specials Guide guests through menu selections, including accommodating dietary restrictions and preferences Take accurate food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS system efficiently Deliver food and beverages in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and proper presentation Monitor tables throughout service, anticipating guest needs and responding promptly Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked service area Collaborate closely with kitchen and bar teams to ensure smooth and efficient service Communicate clearly with team members regarding guest needs, timing, and any service issues Process guest payments accurately and handle cash and credit transactions responsibly Support opening and closing duties, including side work and station setup/breakdown Uphold all food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service standards Maintain awareness of resort offerings, amenities, and events to assist guests as needed Support service for special events, private dining, and spa-related food and beverage offerings Handle guest concerns or feedback professionally and escalate when appropriate Contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment that prioritizes guest satisfaction Support additional duties as assigned based on operational needs Have knowledge of all resort facilities, hours of operation, restaurants, pools, and event spaces. Due to changing operational demands and the need to exceed customer expectations, it may be necessary to undertake various functions that are not specifically related to this position. This individual may be required to carry out additional tasks and duties as needed or as directed. Additionally, employee responsibilities and job descriptions are subject to review and modification.
Qualifications:
Ability to work evenings, weekends, weekdays, and holidays required Prior serving or hospitality experience preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to provide elevated, guest-focused service in a fast-paced environment Basic knowledge of food and beverage service, including safe alcohol service practices Food Handler's Certification required (or willingness to obtain) TABC Certification required (or willingness to obtain) Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English. Reliability, punctuality, and professional communication skills are critical. Ability to work under pressure with a high level of patience and customer service. CPR and first aid certification a plus and /or the willingness to be trained. Ability to walk or stand and move about the resort (both indoors and outdoors) for eight or more hours per day, sit, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb stairs, push, and pull items weighing up to 50 pounds Ottine Mineral Springs is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity, equity, and inclusion.
