04 Jun 2026 Salary Details Competetive Salary Offered Job Description Description Thompson Houston is now recruiting for Restaurant Servers. Join our hotel team as we launch a new destination restaurant concept within Thompson Houston Hotel. This position is available to start immediately and will be a part of a new restaurant relaunch this summer. The 3-meal dining venue includes an expanded 1-acre pool deck serving hotel guests and residents, luxury cabanas, private event spaces, indoor-outdoor dining areas and the best views of downtown. This restaurant is managed by Thompson Houston Hotel and Hyatt Hotels Corporation. Restaurant servers are responsible for submitting guest menu selections and presenting these food and beverage preferences. The right person will gain menu knowledge and give recommendations from our compilation of cuisine and drink offerings. A Hyatt restaurant server will engage in casual conversation and create the restaurant experience by their style and service attributes. Other duties include general restaurant preparation and maintaining a sanitary environment. If you have experience as a server in a restaurant, we'd love to hear from you! Duties & Functions- Uphold company policies, including safety, sanitation, attendance, and dress code guidelines.
- Ensure perishable items are properly labeled, rotated, and discarded to maintain quality control.
- Provide prompt, friendly, and professional service to guests, anticipating their needs and responding to questions.
- Greet guests warmly, assist with seating, and provide menus, water, and drinks.
- Communicate specials, explain menu items and dietary considerations, and take accurate orders.
- Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate food and beverage delivery.
- Serve food and beverages promptly, maintaining proper presentation and timing.
- Monitor guest satisfaction, addressing requests, refilling drinks, and clearing plates.
- Handle guest concerns or complaints professionally, escalating to management as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth service, including assisting during busy periods.
- Process payments accurately and efficiently, presenting bills to guests.
- Perform opening and closing duties, including side work and station setup.
- Participate in training sessions, department meetings, and pre-shift meetings.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 20lbs
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required in the hospitality industry.
- Previous experience in a restaurant or customer service role is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Positive attitude, and enjoyment of the hospitality industry.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure.
- Strong multitasking and time management abilities.
- Attention to detail, ensuring accurate order-taking and payment processing.
- Knowledge of food and beverage menus, including dietary restrictions and allergies.
- Basic math skills for handling payments and calculating tips.
- Flexibility to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, and carry trays for extended periods.
