The Food Runner is responsible for ensuring that food and beverages are delivered to guests quickly, accurately, and in an appealing manner. This position supports servers and kitchen staff by facilitating a smooth and efficient dining experience. Any interest in cross-training for host role or other Front of House support positions is preferable!
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide superior service to all guests, through close adherence to steps of service, attention to detail and personal involvement with the guest experience Verify that food meets the Hearth and Hill standard before delivery to table Clear and concise communication between FOH and BOH, servers and management regarding menu item modifications, allergies, ticket times, refires, etc. Deliver food to tables in a timely manner by adhering to our timing standards When delivering food also remove used dishes and glassware from tables to maintain cleanliness Present professionalism at all times in manor and appearance, relating to Hearth and Hill's dress and grooming standards Perform shift opening & closing checklist; maintain cleanliness and organization of restaurant Polishing and stocking of plateware Ability to carry two or more plates of entree items Coordinate and communicate proactively with all associates Comprehensive knowledge of current menus and products through training opportunities for continued learning Detail oriented control of all procedures involving guest orders, cash procedures, POS system, guest checks and close out of shift Adhere to sanitation and safety policies and ensure that all service is in compliance with Utah alcohol laws Clear product knowledge (including wine, beer liquor, food) Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring guest satisfaction Address guest concerns or issues with professionalism and resolve them quickly

CREDENTIAL AND EXPERIENCE
Food handlers Possess a High School Diploma Must have a basic knowledge of bar service procedures and functions Possess ability to operate a point- of-sale system Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Knowledge of relevant health & safety regulations & procedures
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to stand for extended periods of time Ability to bend, lift, push & carry heavy objects Ability to carry 50 pounds, demonstrating single-hand tray service proficiency Demonstrates single-hand tray service proficiency
