Dietary Aid Reports To :
Dietary Manager / Cook The Kitchen Server / Dietary Aid is responsible for assisting with food preparation, washing dishes, maintaining the cleanliness of both the kitchen and dining areas, and serving meals to residents. The role requires close collaboration with the Dietary Manager to ensure meals and beverages are prepared and served in accordance with the menu, following safety and sanitation standards. In addition to preparing and serving meals, the dietary aid is tasked with delivering food to residents' rooms, preparing and serving snacks, and taking inventory of food and kitchen supplies. The dietary aid also helps set up and take down dining areas and assists with general kitchen maintenance. In the kitchen, the dietary aid ensures that all departmental procedures related to sanitation, safety, and cleaning schedules are followed. They also monitor and maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen and dining areas to meet or exceed the Dietary Manager's specifications and state regulations. The dietary aid is expected to serve meals in a respectful and gracious manner, ensuring the dignity and nutritional needs of residents are always met. Any concerns regarding the health and well-being of residents should be promptly reported to the Resident Care Coordinator or Nurse. The dietary aid also assists with organizing and putting away weekly orders and works to keep the kitchen and dining areas organized and clean. To be successful in this role, candidates must possess a current Food Handler's Permit and be able to communicate effectively with residents, families, supervisors, and co-workers. The ability to perform tasks with grace and a positive attitude, even when the tasks are unpleasant, is essential. The dietary aid must be willing to work with the elderly and work cooperatively with supervisors and fellow team members. Additionally, candidates must provide proof of a recent TB test or be willing to obtain one within two weeks of hire.

Physical Requirements :
The position requires the ability to occasionally lift up to 40 lbs.
