In this role, you will be the friendly face that welcomes patrons to our Mediterranean dessert shop, prepares authentic treats, and efficiently handles transactions. Your culinary and food industry knowledge will ensure smooth operations during our vibrant weekend nights. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your hospitality expertise while contributing to a welcoming atmosphere in the heart of Annandale.

Responsibilities Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, personalized service while they explore our selection of Mediterranean sweets. Prepare and serve a tantalizing array of treats including scooping ice cream, making milkshakes and coffees, and preparing mini pancakes. Expertly plate and serve traditional favorites like Baklava, Turkish Delights (Lokum), and various specialty drinks. Handle cash transactions accurately , including cash handling, credit card processing, and balancing registers at the end of the night. Maintain a clean and stocked station throughout the shift to ensure efficient service and a professional presentation. Manage shop cleanliness by proactively cleaning tables, monitoring bathrooms, and ensuring trash is managed. Execute closing duties thoroughly , including putting away inventory, sweeping, mopping, and deep-cleaning stations and bathrooms to prepare for the next day. Collaborate with the team to maintain high standards of sanitation and food safety in a fast-paced, late-night environment. Requirements Availability to work late-night hours (6:00 PM - 2:00 AM) Friday through Saturday is essential. Previous restaurant or food service experience preferred, but a willingness to learn our specific dessert preparation is key. Knowledge of food handling, sanitation, and safety protocols within the food industry. Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks like serving and cleaning during busy weekend rushes. Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, energetic demeanor that fits our "sweet" atmosphere. Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and order processing. Ability to multi-task between food preparation, guest relations, and shop maintenance. Reliable and professional attitude , especially regarding late-night shift attendance and closing responsibilities.
