Job overview The server makes a long-lasting impression and greatly influences the total guest experience. The position is responsible for taking orders, serving food and beverages with care and other tasks as assigned by management. The server helps clean and sanitize all work areas, as well as practicing safe food handling. The server has a strong, confident presence at the table that is derived from their comprehensive food, wine and spirits knowledge. Your day-to-day Greet customers upon arrival to the restaurant. Provide gracious and professional food and beverage service in an efficient manner. Answer questions, suggestively sell and create an upbeat atmosphere for guests. Maintain regular attendance in compliance with LodgeWorks standards. Clear and clean tables as guests leave. Set tables throughout the shift when applicable. Retrieve and deliver food and beverage items in a timely manner. Replenish beverages and ensure guest satisfaction throughout the meal service. Take food and beverage orders and place orders in point-of-sale system. Ensure that the serving station is always clean and well-stocked. Support other areas or roles when necessary. Be knowledgeable of the menu, brands, prices and options, along with promotions and specials. Conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times. Present the check and be responsible for all transactions, including receiving payment and accurately counting back change. Graciously respond to guest concerns or requests, and report the situation to the Manager. Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment and follow MSDS and OSHA standards. Execute daily side work with enthusiasm and motivation. Serve alcoholic/nonalcoholic beverages in accordance with federal, state, local and company regulations. Comfortable following directions, guidelines and work objectives. Capable of exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally. Capable of standing for an entire shift or for an extended amount of time. Capable of reaching overhead, utilizing both hands, leaning over, stooping and kneeling.
