In this role, you will deliver exceptional service by guiding guests through our traditional and modern grill-at-your-table menu, serving premium cuts of meat, side dishes (banchan), and beverages, and ensuring every guest feels welcomed and valued. Responsibilities Greet guests warmly, present digital or physical menus, and explain the Korean BBQ dining style, including table-top grill operation and banchan offerings Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable Deliver high-quality meats, seafood, side dishes, and drinks efficiently while maintaining presentation standards and keeping table grills clean and active Assist guests with grilling techniques, meat changing (grill grates), and timing when needed to ensure optimal flavor and safety Process cash and credit card transactions accurately, actively upselling premium meat cuts, Soju, Makgeolli, and signature Korean cocktails Ensure strict adherence to food safety, raw meat handling guidelines, and restaurant sanitation standards Quickly clear finished side dishes, buss tables, swap grill plates between courses, and support kitchen and prep staff during peak rushes Provide knowledgeable recommendations on meat pairings, dipping sauces, ssam (lettuce wraps), and traditional Korean spirits Qualifications Previous experience in a restaurant, fast-paced food service, or Korean BBQ environment is highly preferred Strong customer service skills with a friendly, high-energy attitude tailored to interactive dining Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar platforms Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, high-heat, and noisy environment while maintaining attention to detail Basic math skills for processing payments accurately and managing cash transactions Knowledge of or strong interest in Korean cuisine, BBQ cuts (like Samgyeopsal, Galbi, and Chadolbaegi), banchan, and Korean beverages (Soju, Beer, Rice Wine) Ability to handle raw food products safely and assist guests at live cooking tables; willingness to learn authentic Korean hospitality is essential Join Mukja Korean BBQ if you are passionate about food, culture, and gathering people around the table!
