About La Spiga Osteria La Spiga has been a staple in Capitol Hill for almost 28 years, known for its welcoming atmosphere and authentic Northern Italian cuisine. We are looking for a friendly and experienced server to join our FOH staff. Joining La Spiga offers the opportunity to grow in a supportive restaurant setting in the heart of Seattle. Role Description As a Server at La Spiga, you'll give guests the opportunity to dine the Italian way, bringing knowledge and passion for Northern Italian cuisine to every table. You'll be the primary point of contact for guests throughout their visit, guiding them through our menu and wine list and anticipating their needs with attentive service. Responsibilities Greet guests warmly; manage table timing and pacing throughout service Take food and beverage orders, answer questions about menu items and ingredients, and make informed recommendations Offer wine and beverage pairings that complement the meal Accurately enter orders and communicate special requests (allergies, modifications) to the kitchen Process payments using our POS system Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining room and service stations Follow all health, food safety, and sanitation regulations Support teammates and maintain smooth service during busy periods Hours We're looking for someone with availability for dinner service, Tuesday through Saturday, 3:45 PM 11:00 PM. Most of our staff work 20-30 hours per week (full to part-time), with some flexibility offered as needed. Please specify your availability in your application. Qualifications Experience in a full-service restaurant Familiarity with Italian cuisine and wine preferred, or strong willingness to learn Washington Food Handler's Card and MAST permit (or ability to obtain before start date) Comfort with POS systems (bonus if Toast), cash handling, and processing various payment methods Strong communication skills and composure during high-volume service Reliability in maintaining schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed Ability to stand for extended periods, walk frequently, and carry trays and dishes Openness to cross-training in other FOH roles
