Food Runner and Busser

Job Summary The Food Runner supports both the front-of-house and kitchen teams by delivering food efficiently, assisting with basic kitchen prep, and helping maintain a clean and organized workspace. This role is essential to smooth service, food quality, and an excellent guest experience. Key Responsibilities Food Running & Expo Support Deliver food from the kitchen to tables quickly, accurately, and with care Assist with the expo by organizing tickets, garnishing plates, and verifying accuracy Ensure food presentation, meet restaurant standards Assist servers by running food, clearing plates, and resetting tables as needed Respond professionally and courteously to guest inquiries when needed Communicate clearly with kitchen staff and servers regarding orders and timing Support overall team operations during busy service periods Kitchen Prep & Support Assist with light kitchen prep, including preparing condiments, sides, sauces, and garnishes Restock condiments, sides, and supplies throughout service Help maintain organization and cleanliness of prep and expo areas Cleaning & Closing Duties Perform light cleaning duties during and after service Clear and clean expo, prep, and service areas as needed Take out garbage and recycling following proper procedures Assist with end-of-shift and closing tasks as assigned Qualifications & Skills Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Strong teamwork and communication skills Positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed Ability to stand, walk, and walk a flight of stairs for extended periods and carry trays or plates Ability to stay organized and follow direction Restaurant or kitchen experience preferred but not required Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Ability to lift up to 25-30 pounds Ability to work in hot, busy kitchen environments Schedule & Availability Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays Why This Role Matters The Food Runner plays a vital role in connecting the kitchen and front-of-house teams.
