Hotel Innkeeper & Facilities Lead

Otherland Hotel - Newfane, Vermont Otherland Hotel is a newly renovated 20-room hotel located in the mountains of Newfane, Vermont. We are preparing for our opening and are looking for a highly dependable, hands-on Hotel Innkeeper & Facilities Lead to help operate and maintain the property on-site. This is NOT a desk-management position. We are specifically looking for someone who enjoys physical, hands-on work and is comfortable actively participating in the day-to-day operations of a small hotel. This role is ideal for someone with experience in maintenance, housekeeping, property care, hotels, inns, resorts, or short-term rentals who enjoys wearing multiple hats and taking pride in keeping a property running smoothly. In a small operation like ours, leadership means jumping in and doing the work alongside the team when needed.

PM Regular Days Off:

Tuesday and Thursday On-Call for Emergencies as Needed Please note that flexibility is required. Schedules and days off may occasionally change based on occupancy, emergencies, weather, or operational needs. What This Role Actually Looks Like This is a very hands-on operational role.

Some days may involve:

Fixing maintenance issues Assisting with room turnovers Helping with laundry Cleaning common spaces Touch-up painting Groundskeeping and exterior upkeep Setting up rooms for arriving guests Managing supplies and deliveries Supporting housekeeping during busy turnover days Coordinating vendors and contractors when needed Helping ensure the property is guest-ready every day This role combines: Property maintenance Housekeeping support Operations coordination Team support Guest readiness oversight ResponsibilitiesMaintenance & Property Upkeep Perform general maintenance and handyman tasks Troubleshoot and respond to maintenance issues Handle preventive maintenance and repairs Maintain exterior spaces and grounds Assist with seasonal property upkeep, including snow and lawn management Coordinate contractors or vendors when necessary Housekeeping & Cleanliness Support Assist with room turnovers when needed Support housekeeping operations during busy days Help maintain cleanliness standards throughout the property Assist with laundry and organization of supplies Conduct room inspections and quality checks Help maintain common areas in excellent condition Operations Support Help maintain smooth day-to-day hotel operations Receive deliveries and organize supplies Support guest readiness and operational setup Assist with inventory and storage organization Provide emergency on-call support when necessary Help improve systems and operational processes over time Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who: Enjoys hands-on physical work Has maintenance, handyman, facilities, housekeeping, or property care experience Is willing to actively help clean rooms and support operations when needed Is dependable, proactive, and self-motivated Takes pride in keeping spaces clean, functional, and guest-ready Works well independently and with small teams Is comfortable wearing multiple hats in a small hospitality environment Has strong attention to detail Is comfortable using phones, apps, and operational technology Has hotel, inn, resort, Airbnb, campground, or property management experience (preferred but not required) This Role Is Best For Someone Who… Prefers active work over sitting at a desk all day Likes solving problems and staying busy Enjoys maintaining and improving properties Is comfortable stepping into housekeeping and operational tasks when needed Wants to be part of building and operating a small boutique hotel from the ground up How To Apply Please apply directly through Indeed or send your resume and a short introduction to: newfane@stayatmovingcastle.com
