You'll be the vital link in ensuring timely deliveries, moving freight efficiently across state lines, and providing outstanding customer service every step of the way. You will be paired with a experienced driver who will train you until you're ready to hit the road on your own. Duties Safely operate a commercial pick up truck and 40 ft., flat deck trailer and deliver goods along designated routes. No loading or unloading, freight is forklifted on and off the trailer for you by the shipper and removed by the receiver. You will learn how to properly strap and/or chain down cargo and tarp freight when required. Occasionally you will need to be able to lower the mega ramps and drive equipment on and off the trailer Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and on time, maintaining high standards of customer service. Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure safety and compliance with regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and address any issues. Maintain detailed records of deliveries, route logs, and vehicle maintenance reports. Skills Experience driving a dual rear wheel 1 ton pick up truck in combination with a 40 ft gooseneck trailer is a plus. Strong customer service skills to ensure positive interactions during deliveries. Experience using rachet straps, chain binders and tarps to secure freight to flatbed is a plus, must be able to lift 50 lbs tarps occasionally. Ability to navigate using GPS route maps efficiently while adhering to schedules. Excellent driving record with knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations for commercial vehicles.
