Housekeeper

Overview JoThe Housekeeping Aide is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, sanitary, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors within the long-term care facility. This position performs daily cleaning and disinfecting of resident rooms, bathrooms, hallways, dining areas, offices, and common spaces while following infection control and safety procedures in accordance with facility policies, OSHA guidelines, CMS standards, and Oklahoma state regulations. The Housekeeping Aide promotes a positive living environment by ensuring cleanliness, preventing the spread of infection, and treating residents with dignity and respect. Responsibilities Clean and disinfect resident rooms, bathrooms, hallways, dining areas, offices, and common areas. Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, polish, and sanitize floors and surfaces. Empty trash containers and replace liners. Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces including handrails, door handles, and equipment. Replenish soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and other housekeeping supplies. Follow infection prevention and control procedures at all times. Properly use and store cleaning chemicals and equipment. Handle infectious waste and soiled linens according to facility policy. Assist with terminal cleaning after resident discharge or transfer. Maintain housekeeping carts and equipment in a clean and organized condition. Report maintenance concerns, hazards, accidents, or unsafe conditions immediately. Interact respectfully and courteously with residents, families, and staff. Attend required in-service training and safety meetings. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or administration. Experience High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous housekeeping experience in healthcare, nursing home, hospital, or hospitality setting preferred but not required. Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions. Knowledge of infection control and cleaning procedures preferred. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must be dependable, professional, and compassionate toward elderly residents.

Pay:

$9.00 - $11.00 per hour
