Housekeeper

GENERAL We are looking to hire a detailed oriented Housekeeper with a keen sense for care of high-end furniture and environments. This job will require above average skills in relation to laundry, bed making practices, detail cleaning, and hypersensitivity to the people around you. As a successful member of this team, you will need to be an effective communicator with your immediate team members to strategically plan each day and flow well with changes. An extreme level of professionalism and confidentiality is essential. Someone with a passion for systems and organization will do well in this role.

QUALIFICATIONS

Prior experience in a similar position with verifiable references. Professional demeanor and appearance with a positive, pleasant personality. Ability to manage your time efficiently and strategically. Self-starter; works well unsupervised. Sound knowledge on proper care protocols with the ability to care for antiques, artwork, crystal, fine china, silver, brass, marble, fine linens, and cookware, etc. Respond positively to constant updates and feedback. Flexible and able to accommodate changes in plans/routine with ease. Work well in a fast-paced environment when principals are in residence. Strong work ethic; meticulous and detail-oriented with strong organization skills. Discreet, and respectful of principals' privacy; willing to sign a confidentiality agreement. Able to communicate effectively and readily with and principal and other staff. Able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without accommodation of any limitations you may have to performing those essential functions. Ability to lift at least 25 pounds. Willing to perform any other duties as may be requested. Able to work legally in the United States. Possesses a valid driver's license, with an acceptable driving record; can be insured at no material increment in cost.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the general and specialty cleaning of the home. Vacuum and mop floors, cleaning spills with appropriate equipment/products. Constantly clean and stock restrooms. Properly clean upholstered furniture. Keep windows clean on inside, notify outdoor team of exterior needs. Assist in maintaining the orderly operation and cleanliness of the home; notify managers of necessary repairs. Ensure daily graces are performed; tend to kitchen, baths, and bedrooms first thing each day. Work with the residence manager to inventory and maintain proper levels of bedding, towels, and dinnerware; notify of needed replenishments. Provide thoughtful, informed care of all fine furnishings and materials, including antiques, artwork, crystal, china, silver, brass, marble, fine linens, and cookware, etc., using proper supplies and techniques. With the other staff, follow the schedule for project work and heavy cleaning. In partnership with the Chef, weekly deep cleaning of kitchen, including major appliances. Collect and dispose of trash and organize recycling. Maintain sufficient inventories of cleaning supplies and household items. Use only healthy home, plant and mineral based cleaning products that are approved by the family. Keep kitchen pantry and refrigerator stocked. Run errands (i.e., collect dry cleaning, drop mail at the post office, purchase flowers). Keep cut flowers in the house fresh and replace water every 2-3 days. Water plants as directed.

CLOTHING CARE

Organize and maintain all clothing, closets, and drawers; perform detailed cleaning as needed; seasonally change out wardrobes. Perform all household laundry; handwashing most clothing; ironing, pressing, and steaming of garments and household linens. Knowledgeable care of luxury clothing. Maintain a dry-cleaning log; prepare for pick-up and inspect upon return. Change linens on beds twice weekly. Keep the linen/laundry room stocked and organized.

GUEST SERVICES AND ENTERTAINING RESPONSIBILITIES

Courteous, efficient, and accurate handling of telephones, doors, messages, and deliveries. Assist with set-up, serving, passing appetizers and clean-up for dinner parties and other events. Prepare for and attend to guests' needs. Assists guests with luggage, unpacking and packing.

SCHEDULE AND HOURS

The schedule for position includes a combination of weekdays and weekends Various months may require additional days based on the family's schedule and coordination with the remaining culinary team members. Applicant must be flexible due to last minute travel changes and/or needs of the family.

COMPENSATION AND TERMS

Salary commensurate with experience.
