POSITION SUMMARY

The Housekeeping Specialist is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment within the Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF). This role supports daily operations by performing routine cleaning, disinfecting surfaces, and managing laundry services in accordance with infection control standards and regulatory requirements. The Housekeeping Specialist plays a critical role in promoting the health, safety, and overall well-being of the individuals we serve, staff, and visitors. About Broadstep Broadstep has been providing a continuum of care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), mental illness, and co-occurring disorders for more than 45 years . Our South Carolina Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facilities provide evidence-based behavioral health treatment focused on stabilization and successful transition to community or family settings. Programs are CARF accredited and staffed by multidisciplinary teams.

WORK SCHEDULE M-F 8AM

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES

Cleaning & Sanitation Perform daily cleaning and sanitation of resident rooms, common areas, offices, bathrooms, and clinical spaces Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and disinfect surfaces in accordance with facility cleaning protocols Follow established infection control procedures and cleaning schedules Complete all assigned cleaning tasks using designated cleaning checklists and documentation Laundry & Linen Services Collect, wash, dry, and distribute linens and laundry as required Ensure proper handling of soiled linens in accordance with infection control standards Safety & Compliance Safely use and store cleaning chemicals, equipment, and supplies in accordance with OSHA and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) requirements Maintain and ensure accessibility of SDS documentation for all cleaning products Identify and report safety concerns or hazards promptly Inventory & Supplies Monitor and maintain inventory of housekeeping supplies and equipment Notify leadership of supply needs and assist with reordering to ensure adequate stock levels Maintain organization and cleanliness of housekeeping storage areas Coordination & Communication Communicate with leadership regarding cleaning needs, priorities, and any facility concerns Submit maintenance requests for repairs (this role does not perform maintenance work) Participate in team meetings and training as required Additional Duties Support overall facility cleanliness and readiness for inspections, audits, and tours Perform other duties as assigned to support facility operations

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience High School Diploma or GED preferred Prior housekeeping, janitorial, or environmental services experience Experience in healthcare, residential, or behavioral health settings preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety Ability to follow cleaning protocols and infection control standards Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Reliable, dependable, and able to maintain confidentiality Ability to communicate effectively with staff and leadership Clearance Requirements Successful completion of: Criminal background check (state and federal, as applicable) Drug screening Health screening/physical (as required) Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record (if operating company vehicles).

Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and move for extended periods Ability to lift and carry up to 25-50 pounds Ability to operate cleaning equipment and tools Ability to perform repetitive cleaning tasks

WORK ENVIRONMENT 24/7
