Job Description

We are seeking a Recertification Specialist to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis. This role requires working at our office located in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in housing programs, compliance, or property management, with strong knowledge of tenant recertification processes. This position is essential to ensuring compliance with HUD regulations and maintaining accurate and complete tenant files. Key Responsibilities Conduct annual and interim recertifications for tenants in accordance with program guidelines. Collect, review, and verify income, employment, assets, and household documentation. Calculate tenant rent portions and housing assistance payments following HUD standards. Maintain accurate tenant records, both physical and electronic, in compliance with audit requirements. Communicate with residents to explain documentation requirements, deadlines, and program rules. Assist tenants with completing required forms and provide guidance on program responsibilities. Collaborate with internal staff to ensure timely completion of recertifications and lease renewals. Monitor compliance with HUD regulations, Public Housing Authority policies, and internal procedures. Prepare reports and documentation required for audits and compliance reviews. Provide professional and courteous customer service to residents at all times. Qualifications Previous experience in recertification, housing compliance, or affordable housing programs is required. Knowledge of HUD regulations and Public Housing Authority procedures is strongly preferred. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience with housing software systems such as Yardi, Emphasys, or similar is a plus. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in an office environment. Schedule and Location Full-time position , Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM On-site role Work will be based at our Fort Lauderdale office, depending on operational needs.
