Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented HR & Accounting Specialist to support both human resources operations and day-to-day accounting functions. This role requires someone who can work independently, manage sensitive information, and ensure accuracy across HR and financial processes. Key Responsibilities Human Resources Manage employee onboarding, new hire documentation (I-9, W-4), and offboarding Maintain employee records in compliance with federal and Texas labor laws Administer benefits (enrollment, changes, employee communication) Support payroll processing (collecting inputs, validating data, coordinating with payroll provider) Track attendance, PTO, and employee requests Assist with recruitment (job postings, screening, interview coordination) Ensure HR compliance and confidentiality of employee data Accounting Process accounts payable and receivable Prepare invoices, track payments, and follow up on outstanding balances Perform bank and credit card reconciliations Maintain accurate financial records and documentation Assist with payroll entries and coordination with external CPA/accountants Support month-end close and audit preparation Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in HR, Accounting, Finance, or related field 2-4 years of relevant experience in HR and/or accounting roles Strong proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) Working knowledge of payroll processes and basic accounting principles Familiarity with U.S. employment laws and HR compliance basics Strong follow-up, organization, and multitasking skills Ability to work independently and handle confidential information Preferred Qualifications Experience with HRIS/payroll systems (ADP, Paychex, Gusto, etc.) Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar) Knowledge of Texas-specific employment practices
