Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented HR Compliance & Operations Manager specializing in transportation to lead our human resources functions within the transportation sector. This pivotal role involves ensuring adherence to employment laws, managing HR operations, and fostering a compliant, efficient, and engaging workplace environment. The ideal candidate will drive strategic initiatives, oversee talent management processes, and collaborate with senior leadership to optimize organizational effectiveness. Your energetic approach and expertise will empower our team members and support the company's growth objectives. Duties Develop, implement, and monitor HR policies ensuring compliance with employment law, OSHA regulations, and industry standards such as FMCSA, Workers' Compensation, and labor laws. Oversee talent acquisition efforts including sourcing, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new employees within the transportation division. Manage employee relations by addressing conflicts, conducting employee evaluations, and facilitating employee orientation programs. Lead performance management initiatives and support succession planning to develop future leaders. Ensure compliance with safety standards by implementing OSHA protocols and managing safety training programs aligned with transportation operations. Utilize platforms such as QuickBooks, Motive, or Microsoft programs for data collection, reporting, and process improvement to enhance operational efficiency. Collaborate with senior leadership on organizational design projects, change management strategies, and strategic planning efforts to align HR practices with business goals. Requirements Proven experience supervising HR teams within transportation or logistics environments. Strong knowledge of employment & labor law, workers' compensation policies, OSHA regulations, and FMCSA compliance. Demonstrated skills in negotiation, conflict management, and employee relations to foster a positive workplace culture. Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly to all levels of the organization. Experience in program management related to training & development initiatives and process improvements. Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
