Job Description

100% ONSITE in Mountain View, CAWe are looking for an experienced HR Director to lead and strengthen the people function for a growing technology organization in Mountain View, California. This Long-term Contract position calls for a hands-on leader who can balance strategic planning with day-to-day execution across core human resources operations. The person in this role will work closely with senior leadership to build scalable people practices, support a multi-state workforce, and foster a compliant, high-performing employee environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Direct the full scope of human resources activities across the employee journey, including onboarding, employee support, benefits coordination, leave administration, compliance, and payroll oversight for a multi-state workforce.
  • Collaborate with executives and department leaders to shape HR strategies that support business priorities, organizational growth, and operational effectiveness.
  • Support corporate operations while partnering with HR leadership responsible for contracted workforce groups across multiple regions.
  • Design and refine HR policies, programs, and internal processes that can scale effectively in a fast-moving, high-growth business environment.
  • Advise managers and employees on workplace matters such as performance concerns, employee relations issues, investigations, and conflict resolution.
  • Maintain adherence to applicable employment laws and regulations at the federal, state, provincial, and local levels, with particular attention to California labor requirements.
  • Coordinate payroll-related activities with internal teams and external service providers to help ensure accuracy, timeliness, and proper documentation.
  • Improve HR operational workflows by enhancing processes tied to employee records, onboarding, offboarding, and HR system usage and reporting.
  • Lead initiatives that strengthen employee engagement, retention, organizational effectiveness, and company culture.
  • Partner across functions, including operations, engineering, and leadership teams, to support workforce planning, talent strategy, and organizational design decisions.
