Human Resource Assistant

Human Resources Generalist (Manufacturing/Plant Environment) We are currently seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to support our plant operations. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three (3) years of HR experience in a manufacturing or plant environment and a strong working knowledge of employment law, safety practices, and HR administration.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain and administer employee records and HR files in compliance with legal requirements and company policies Prepare and analyze monthly and year-end HR reports, including terminations, transfers, and new hires Support the administration of employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, life, and short-term disability (STD) Assist in identifying workplace hazards, evaluating risks, and implementing measures to reduce accidents and financial loss Review and update safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards Conduct safety inspections, including fire prevention equipment and first aid supplies Investigate workplace accidents, determine root causes, and recommend preventative actions Serve as a management representative for employee relations matters, including EEO, OSHA, and wage and hour concerns Process and track compensation changes such as merit increases, and monitor PTO balances (vacation, sick, personal time) Manage unemployment claims, including documentation review and response coordination Assist with recruiting efforts, including job postings and candidate coordination Ensure timely reporting of workplace injuries to Workers' Compensation carriers

Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years of HR experience in a manufacturing or plant environment Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws (EEO, OSHA, Wage & Hour) Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Valid driver's license required Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
