We are a General Contractor specializing in heavy civil construction projects ranging from UDOT highways and bridges to city streets and sidewalks. The HR Generalist supports the execution of human resources strategies and initiatives across the organization, partnering closely with operational leaders and employees to foster a productive, engaged, and compliant workforce. This role provides broad HR support in the areas of employee relations, talent acquisition, talent development, employee engagement, performance management, internal communications, HR data analytics, and employee coaching. In a construction environment, the HR Generalist serves as a trusted partner to both field and office teams, requiring strong bilingual communication skills (English/Spanish) to effectively support a diverse workforce and help align people practices with operational goals. Key Responsibilities Support the implementation of HR strategies, programs, and initiatives aligned with company objectives Partner with assigned departments and teams to provide day-to-day HR guidance and support Manage employee relations matters, including workplace concerns, investigations, policy interpretation, and conflict resolution Support talent acquisition efforts, including recruiting, sourcing, screening, interview coordination, and onboarding Execute talent development initiatives such as training programs, employee development plans, and succession support Lead and support employee engagement initiatives to strengthen company culture, retention, and morale Assist managers with performance management processes, including evaluations, coaching, documentation, and corrective actions Develop and support internal communications for employees, company initiatives, and organizational updates Maintain, analyze, and report HR metrics and workforce data to support decision-making Provide coaching and HR support to assigned employee groups and supervisors Ensure compliance with company policies, employment laws, and HR best practices Support continuous improvement initiatives related to HR processes and employee experience Requirements Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field 3-5 years of HR experience, preferably in construction, manufacturing, or similar operational industries Experience supporting employee relations, recruiting, performance management, and employee engagement initiatives Knowledge of employment laws, labor relations, and HR best practices Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Experience with HRIS systems and workforce reporting tools preferred Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (required) Experience supporting a diverse hourly workforce in a construction environment strongly preferred
