Job Description

The Human Resources Generalist supports the organization by assisting the Human Resources department with talent acquisition, payroll administration, and employee benefits management tasks and activities. This role serves as a key partner to employees and leadership by ensuring efficient HR operations, delivering exceptional candidate and employee experiences, and maintaining compliance with company policies and employment regulations.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Talent Acquisition & Recruiting Support full-cycle recruiting for hourly and salaried positions across the organization Post job advertisements on recruiting platforms, social media, and internal channels Source, screen, and interview candidates to identify qualified talent Coordinate interview schedules, candidate communication, and hiring decisions Conduct background screenings and pre-employment processes Prepare and extend employment offers and coordinate onboarding activities Support employer branding initiatives and workforce development efforts Maintain recruiting metrics and provide regular hiring updates to leadership Payroll Administration Support payroll tasks processing accurately and on time Review timekeeping records for accuracy, attendance, overtime, and payroll adjustments Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws and company payroll policies Maintain payroll records, deductions, garnishments, and direct deposit information Respond to employee payroll questions and resolve discrepancies promptly Assist with year-end payroll activities including W-2 processing and audits Benefits Administration Support employee benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and retirement plans Assist with benefits enrollment for new hires and annual open enrollment Coordinate with benefit providers and brokers to ensure accurate employee coverage Process qualifying life event changes and maintain benefits records Assist with employee leave administration including FMLA and other applicable leave programs General HR Responsibilities Maintain employee records and ensure HRIS data accuracy Assist with policy implementation and employee handbook administration Support employee relations efforts and provide guidance on HR policies and procedures Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws Participate in HR projects, audits, reporting, and process improvement initiatives Support employee engagement activities Support performance management and employee development efforts Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and company information Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred 5+ years of Human Resources experience with emphasis in recruiting, payroll, and benefits Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments preferred Knowledge of payroll systems, HRIS platforms, and applicant tracking systems Strong understanding of employment laws and HR best practices Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Strong recruiting and interviewing skills with the ability to identify top talent Knowledge of payroll processing procedures, tax reporting, and timekeeping systems Ability to administer and explain employee benefit programs effectively Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and maintain positive employee relationships Excellent verbal and written communication skills High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Effective problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills Ability to interpret and apply HR policies, procedures, and employment laws Proficiency with HRIS, payroll systems, Microsoft Office, and recruiting platforms Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively Strong customer service mindset with a focus on employee support and engagement Adaptability and flexibility in a growing organization Must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation, all essential functions of the job.
