  • Job Description The Human Resources Manager is responsible for leading and managing all human resource functions for the Ottoville, Ohio and Wabash, Indiana manufacturing facilities.
This position oversees employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, training, safety coordination, benefits administration, compliance, performance management, and personnel development while supporting the overall operational goals of the organization. This role partners closely with plant leadership to promote a positive workplace culture, maintain compliance with employment laws and OSHA regulations, and support employee engagement and retention initiatives. The HR Manager is expected to maintain a visible presence at both facilities and travel between locations a minimum of one (1) day per week or as business needs require.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and oversight for all HR functions across both manufacturing locations. Partner with Plant Managers and leadership teams to support operational and workforce objectives. Lead recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and orientation activities for all positions. Maintain employee records, attendance tracking, PTO records, FMLA documentation, benefits administration, and personnel files. Administer employee relations activities, including coaching, counseling, investigations, corrective actions, and conflict resolution. Support performance management processes, employee development initiatives, and succession planning efforts. Coordinate and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations and company policies. Oversee workers' compensation claims management, unemployment hearings, and related investigations. Coordinate and support safety initiatives, OSHA compliance activities, OSHA 300 logs, and required safety training programs. Assist with safety committee meetings and promote a culture of workplace safety. Organize annual compliance training programs including CPR, first aid, lockout/tagout, hazard communication, forklift training, hearing conservation, and other required programs. Collaborate with leadership regarding staffing plans, workforce development, employee retention, and organizational improvements. Support wage and compensation reviews, benefit programs, and employee engagement initiatives. Assist in administration of payroll/timekeeping processes and monthly HR reporting. Coordinate employee appreciation events, wellness initiatives, and team-building activities. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and business information. Promote company values, professionalism, teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout both facilities. Support internal audits and HR documentation requirements. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by executive leadership.

Job Requirements:
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment. Prior leadership or HR management experience preferred. Working knowledge of employment laws, OSHA regulations, workers' compensation, and HR best practices. Strong organizational, communication, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills. Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office applications. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all HR matters. Ability to travel between Ottoville, Ohio and Wabash, Indiana a minimum of one (1) day per week or as business needs require. Ability to work extended hours as needed to support business operations.
Salary Range:
$50,000
  • $70,000 based on a combination of education and experience.
