Ontic's Chatsworth, CA, site specializes in precision engineering, MRO, and new solutions for parts at risk of obsolescence. Our team is looking for a HR Operations Manager which can be based in any of our 3 locations, California, North Carolina, Florida - Reporting to the HR Director, the HR Operations Manager USA oversees HR operations (including USA payroll) while supporting global HR metrics, SOPs, systems, and HR Service Desk operations. The role partners closely with US HR Directors, Business Partners, COEs and system owners to ensure HR processes, data integrity and reporting meet high standards across the USA.
This role plays a critical part in supporting and shaping the future global shared services strategy by developing streamlined processes, enhancing automation, and implementing robust governance across the employee lifecycle within the USA.
HR Operations Manager Main Responsibilities:
Support automation opportunities globally in the transactional world
Metric dissemination for MBRs, including Starter, Leaver, attrition data for global consistency in ELT presentation & easy global roll up.
USA HR SOP and policy management, governance and repository management, including version control and annual review (inc the HR Library) in partnership with global HR Directors & HRBPs
Owner of the HR ServiceDesk to include:
Ensuring tickets placed on Hold are pushed back out to owners and resolved or closed in a timely manner
Lead the global consistency of response to queries - inclusion of reminders of info available on the Gateway, or provision / direction to instructions to find absence hours on WD so that employees self-serve
In partnership with the HRDs, develop the HR Admins to triage all tickets before passing them to COEs or BPs, and with the aim of supporting any site through building the knowledge bank in the system
Basic metrics for HRDs and for inclusion in monthly
MBRs:
Analysis of tickets raised by site and the group managing the resolution
Themes of tickets and recommendations for automation of responses or improvements to self-serve Gateway content
TAT / SLA
achieved
USA audit support as directed, to include but not limited to Sarbanes Oxley.
Centralization of all USA Administration, to include but not limited to:
Actively review and continuously improve HR processes and procedures, focusing on continuous improvement and automation.
Employee Life Cycle Administration
Annual updating of site Handbooks
Oversee USA Payroll Operations to include processing review.
Own the relationship with the Outsourced Payroll provider to ensure a consistent and successful process
Facilitation and vendor management of the USA Drug & Alcohol policy.
Engagement with key stakeholders to support and deliver HR activities
Qualifications & Skills
Degree in Business/HR or similar discipline
Proven experience leading HR Services / HR Operations in a regional or global environment.
Demonstrable experience implementing or scaling shared services models.
Strong project management skills, ideally with experience delivering global change.
Track record of developing and implementing sophisticated processes and workflows, including system changes where appropriate
Experience in leading transaction automation opportunities
Demonstrable experience of building relationships with key stakeholders and successfully executing projects
Exceptionally analytical with strong trouble-shooter and problem-solving skills, able to develop solutions to a variety of problems
Highly numerate and a proficient Microsoft Excel user
Experienced user of Workday or other such HRIS
