Job Description

JOB TITLE
Red Tag Mechanic Appling, GA | CPO Line Club Car boasts a 60+ year history of industry-leading innovation and design, initially focused on golf cars and expanding to commercial utility vehicles and personal-use transportation.
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Under direct supervision, as assigned by the Manufacturing Supervisor or Team Lead, ensures parts, products, and cars are manufactured in a high-quality/cost-effective manner. Utilizes previous experience and skills to fill in as an Assembler for absent Assemblers and performs rework processes/ repairs as needed. Provides the technical training and cross-training each associate and co-associate needs to accomplish their assigned job by performance expectations. Keeps the Manufacturing Supervisor/ Team Leader advised on associate relations issues related to policy and procedure compliance.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Utilizes previous work experience and skills learned to fill in as an Assembler anywhere in the department when commonly assigned Assemblers are absent or unavailable. Performs all necessary job requirements of the Assembler during that assignment. Ensures all jobs are set up, and tools are available to meet daily manufacturing requirements. Trains and provides cross-training for each newly assigned or hired associate/co-associate in the technical specifications of the given assembly position/station for both quality and productivity. Training includes, as a minimum, proper assembly methods, work verification requirements/procedures, TQC requirements/procedures, and Kanban maintenance. Ensures Assemblers have the proper tools and gages to perform their assigned tasks. Performs verification of work procedures and retrains Assemblers as required to ensure product specifications are met. Coordinates with Quality Control to obtain initial approval of the first/final parts produced. Coordinates with the Manufacturing Supervisor/Section Leader to determine the disposition of questionable scrapped or rejected parts and assemblies. Trains Assemblers in policies and procedures related to maintaining the department clean, safe, and orderly. Reworks and repairs vehicles in the finished goods inventory or the red tag area when necessary. Also, inventories and installs missing components on vehicles in finished goods inventory when necessary. Submits work orders and tool repair tickets to Tool, Die, and Plant Engineering promptly. Provide input to the Manufacturing Supervisor/Section Leader regarding improvement of production issues, tooling, fixtures, and process changes and take action, upon approval, to improve those processes and quality issues. Performs assigned assembly/fabrication work in other departments as required. Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintains a safe and productive work environment by ensuring the work area is clear of tools, brooms, debris, and other items that may present a hazard. Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned. Must be able to work overtime as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB
Education:
High School Diploma/Equivalent required. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Must be able to read and write in English.
Experience:
Minimum of six months of Club Car Assembly experience or three years of assembly experience. Ability to read blueprints and communicate technical issues to department Assemblers and have demonstrated leadership skills.
KEY COMPETENCIES
Mechanical and technical skills. Safety management mindset. Focus on quality control. Dexterity and hand-eye coordination, including the ability to grasp, manipulate, and assemble parts and components that are often very small.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Requires occasional lifting of objects of objects 25 to 50 pounds. Work requires periodic stooping/bending and frequent walking/standing. Work involves activities that require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, or vehicles. Club Car is a diverse and inclusive environment.
