Service Chief of Head & Neck Oncology in Durham, NC Duke Health - 3.7 Durham, NC Job Details 1 day ago Qualifications BC/BE Oncology Full Job Description Join Duke Oncology Division in Durham, NC! Duke Health, Duke Cancer Institute, and the Department of Medicine's Division of Medical Oncology are seeking a board-certified Medical Oncologist (MD or MD/PhD) to serve as Service Chief for Head and Neck Cancer. This leadership role is responsible for setting and executing a strategic vision for the service in alignment with divisional goals while ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based, patient-centered care. The Service Chief will provide clinical oversight for head and neck cancer care, lead operational and program development efforts, and support recruitment, onboarding, and performance management of service personnel. The Service Chief is key to fostering a collaborative and inclusive team environment, advancing research and educational initiatives, and mentoring junior faculty in their professional and academic development. This is an academic appointment at the Associate Professor level (or higher) for candidates with at least three years of leadership experience. The role offers a competitive compensation package, academic rank, research and clinical incentives, and support for professional development and relocation. The Duke Division of Medical Oncology is internationally recognized for its novel approaches to treating patients who present with all stages and subtypes of head and neck cancer. Specialists in medicine, surgery, radiation therapy, radiology, pathology, and palliative care who concentrate on the care of patients with head and neck cancer meet at least weekly to review difficult cases, debate new therapy plans, and formulate treatment algorithms.
